Bio

My experience with operations and management in Higher Education Institutions spans over three decades. I began working as a student employee at the Chicago Illini Union in the late 80’s on the set-up crew and then as building manager. Working my way up taking over as Operations Coordinator in the Evening, I then moved over to Plant Operations with oversight of Building Services, Housekeeping and facility maintenance. In 1998 I joined the University of Chicago staff as the facility manager at the Reynolds Club where I oversaw the operation of the University’s main student activities center. In 2001, I took over the role of Associate Director for Facilities and Event Services. My responsibilities revolved around offering the best service to all users of space under the purview of the Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities (ORCSA). In 2009, I was appointed founding director of the Office of Event Services (OES). In this capacity, I was charged with the consolidation of event services offered at Ida Noyes Hall and International House, the two largest and most dynamic spaces dedicated to event services on campus.
In 2011, overall facility management and operations oversight for Ida Noyes Hall, was added to OES’s responsibilities. The 85,000 sq. ft. facility, which acts as a center of campus and student life, houses the University’s Career Advancement office, Student Employment office, the Center for Identity and Inclusion satellite office, Spiritual Life, Booth (Business School) Marketing offices and several student organization offices. It is also home to the University’s Pub and a Cinema run by the nation’s oldest student run film group, DOC films. All of this and over 20,000 sq. ft. of event/activity space supporting 400+ student organizations, all University Departments and guests of the University. With focus on these great university resources.  In 2018 I took the opportunity to move to Nevada, overseeing operations in the 165,000 Square foot Joe Crowley Student Union at the University of Nevada, Reno.  In 2021, I was offered and accepted the position of Associate Executive Director of Student Union Inc. at San Jose State University.  I am charged with oversight of the student union and its overall operations.

My personal interests include a love of Comic Book collecting, Science Fiction and Night Life Event Management. I've also spent time in the production of a cable access television show.
