Jeff is a Washington native graduating from Richland High School in 2001 and went on to attend Central Washington University. During his time at CWU he was actively involved in residence life serving as a resident assistant for three years and later becoming a student government representative for two years. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Community Health Education. Jeff attended graduate school at Colorado State University and graduated in 2009 with his Masters of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education. After graduation from CSU Jeff started his professional journey at Montana State University Billings where he served in a variety of capacities eventually departing as the Associate Dean of Students in October 2017, when he made the decision to make his way back to Wildcat country as the Executive Director of Student Involvement.
Among his primary roles Jeff oversees the Center for Leadership & Community Engagement, the Diversity & Equity Center, the Publicity Center, Student Union & Activities and KCWU 88.1 The Burg. Jeff is also the primary advisor to the Associated Students of Central Washington University (ASCWU) Student Government.
Jeff is active in Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) through leadership roles and regularly presenting at regional and national conferences. Additionally, Jeff has a strong connection with the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) recognizing that the organizations work with the co-curricular student experience is strengthened through exceptional facilities and programs.
Learning from an early age that he was part of a larger world Jeff is a prime example of service to humanity within his community. He has served as a Big Brother for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Yellowstone County for eight years and received the Big Brother of the Year award in 2015. For the past 18 years Jeff has served as volunteer Little League umpire for four communities in three states.
From the Ellensburg farmers market to weekend traveling in the Pacific Northwest, Jeff and his fiance’, Casey, have made Central Washington home and remain active in the community.
