Bio

Greetings!  I currently serve as the Director of Operations for the Student Memorial Center at Millersville University of Pennsylvania (MU).  Millersville University of Pennsylvania is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education that includes 14 institutions located throughout the state.   Founded in 1854, Millersville University today enrolls more than 7,500 students and consists of four colleges.

While Operations is a relatively new role for me, I previously served as the Director of Campus Life for 3.5 years at MU and provided oversight and vision for four student-centric areas: Campus Activities, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Leadership Programs, and Student Organizations.  I also serve on a wide variety of university committees and task forces, as well as an advisor to the Student Government Association.

Prior to joining Millersville University, I served as the Director of Student Life and First-Year Experience at my alma mater, Eastern Kentucky University.  As director, I was responsible for supervising six full-time staff members and providing oversight and direction for Fraternity and Sorority Life, Leadership Programs, Student Organizations, Facilities, Student Activities, and Community Service and Engagement.  One of my major accomplishments included designing and facilitating EKU’s first 5-day pre-matriculation program for 2,700 first year-students that included initiatives designed to help students excel inside and outside of the classroom.   While at EKU, I also served in various other roles including Program Coordinator for the EKU Honors Program, as well as the Director of First-Year Courses and Learning Communities where I hired, trained, and evaluated faculty, as well as developed a curriculum for first-year seminars.  I also served in various other roles before entering higher education including as an international humanitarian aid worker in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe, and as a 4-H and Youth Development Agent at the University of Kentucky.

I proudly received a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Recreation and Park Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 2006 and graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Park Administration with a concentration in Public and Nonprofit Programming and Tourism Management.
