Fortunate to serve as the Husky Union Building (HUB) Director at the University of Washington. Responsible for the oversight of HUB facility reservations and operations, Games Area (including the brand new Esports Arena and Gaming Lounge), the Student Activities Office, and Student Organization Resource Center. Additionally responsible for supervising Student Legal Services and the d/Deaf Cultural Center. I have an incredible staff of more than 45 professionals and 125 students. Together we build community and create lasting memories for more than 950 student organizations and 46,000 UW students.
I am a Student Affairs Professional with experiences since 2001 in college union management, organizational development, advising students, co-curricular activities, leadership training, campus programming, campus recreation, and emergency management. My facility management experience has included the construction of 2 student unions, overseeing 5 total student unions, supervising professional and student staff, and managing multi-million dollar budgets. I have taught leadership courses at Jacksonville University and led workshops engaging students in their own personal development. I have a passion for helping others to exceed their own perceived potential and making a little dent in the world.
My PhD is in Higher Education from Virginia Tech with a research focus on understanding the role of the college union in building students' sense of community.
