  • 1.  Encompassing Student Employment in FTE Job Description for Credit

    Hi y'all!

    In order to increase access, we are updating our Event Coordinator job description.  We are moving an undergrad degree to preferred qualifications, out of minimum qualifications.  For years of experience, we are considering (per HR):

    "One (1) year of related work experience or participation in Night Owl [the name of our student employment program] event position or similar college event training experience elsewhere."

    What are your thoughts? Is it clear? My counter is ...or two years of student employment experience with a concentration in event coordination or facility management. 

    I would love thoughts/validation/feedback from my people.

    Jonathan I like your counter language as it keeps the qualifications less specific to your institution, assuming you might have applicants from outside of Kennesaw State. If you reference the Night Owl position, might that have the opposite effect of making it seem like outside folks are not encouraged to apply?

    Reading the description you provided, that is a position I would refer our event operations students to if they were looking to continue this line of work.
