Utilization of Engage / Campus Labs

Posted by Michael Odojewski on Oct 23, 2018 12:08 pm

At the University at Buffalo, our Student Engagement Office uses Engage/Campus Labs to manage Student Organization events (advertise, space request and track attendance), official recognition/reregistration, Club Office Allocation and for Student Union student employment applications.  Does anyone else utilize Engage/Campus Labs and if so, in what capacity?

Hi Michael - at Temple University we use Engage for similar aspects of our student organization process as you have listed. We do not use it for employment as TU has a different university wide system for student hiring. Our Division of Student Affairs has used it for internal surveys and award nomination submissions as well.

SUNY Oneonta was a very early adopter of what is now Engage and it is essential to everything we do.It is not just limited to student organizations. It is our campus event calendar.

The following is in addition to what you list:
  • organization finances (real-time encumbrance approval system)
  • special allocation requests
  • tracking participation in our campus leadership program, RA in-services, faculty development
  • online timesheets
  • campus and organization elections and surveys
  • tracking service hours
  • fundraising approvals
  • participation waivers
i'm sure there is more...

Hi Michael,

Western Washington University migrated this past summer from OrgSync to Engage and rebranded in the process. The students really enjoy it! We use it for club recognition, posting events, managing club finances, multiple forms (including funding requests, publicity center requests, online trainings, etc), sending email relays to all students, and card swiping into events. This year we have branched out to campus offices and are up to 10 offices that are using it including athletics, advising, career services, etc. Our VP is advocating to make this a full campus use in the next few years and to add features such as Paths and service (Give Pulse). We also just added the Elections module for the upcoming first-ever Senate elections. You are welcome to check out our site: https://win.wwu.edu

At Point Park University we utilize PointSync with Campus Labs to manage all university events (registration forms, RSVPs and track attendance), student organizations, co-curricular records, various waivers for recreation use (Rec. Center General Conditions of Use Waiver, Bike Waiver, and Athletic Waivers), student employment applications, work study training and development materials, student surveys, and quick links to various Point Park webpages for student and staff use.
