Hello Angela ~
The University at Buffalo implemented the Room Reservations Integration in January and can echo what Joshua said – it has some nuances/quirks. I tell students 82.5% of the time it works great and just as planned, but that other 17.5%... is, well, frustrating.
Pros:
· Efficiency
o Decreases processing time/wait time
o Decreases amount of data entry
· It increases student awareness of spaces and limitations
· The new integration is allowing us to simplify our request process, and we will be redoing our form, process flow, and adding branches this summer
Cons:
· Glitches
o leaves the students that experience a glitch very frustrated with the process
o As the main approver, I sometimes have to approve an event, and then manually go into the event to change the details because the correct room would not populate
· Students/Education – students don't realize they are actually reserving space, so they add extra rooms or dates all the time as "back-up," which decreases efficiencies
Happy to discuss our experience more if it helps!
