ACUI 101: An Orientation for New Volunteers

To enhance the volunteer experience, upon accepting a new role with ACUI, volunteers will participate in this orientation session, which provides an overview of ACUI’s mission, history, strategic plan, core competencies, programs/services, and other information. Mitigating Bias in the Volunteer Selection Process
February 28 at 2 p.m. Eastern
When determining which candidates best "fit" in a certain volunteer role, it can be easy for our unconscious bias or unwritten expectations to influence decisions. For those involved in upcoming volunteer selections, this session will involve a simulated selection activity and reflection on might be done to better mitigate bias during the process. ACUI Branding and Digital Marketing
April 25 at 1 p.m. Eastern
For volunteers working with their teams and staff liaisons to get the word out about important volunteer initiatives, there are resources and guidelines available to help with this process. Learn more about ACUI’s overarching brand, as well as tips and tricks for writing content for the website, sending email communications, creating surveys, and engaging through social media. There are dozens of tools available to help volunteers do their work, organized by category and resource type. Updated volunteer orientation videos from ACUI 101 are now available. Other tools include the brand book, procedures, templates, links, policies, and more. 

Previous Trainings

As a volunteer, you play a key role in maximizing the potential of our programs. You will learn how you fit into the big financial picture of running an association like ACUI. From learning what it means to be a part of a 501(c)3 organization to breaking down the obligations and responsibilities of staff and volunteers, you will gain an understanding of how we move our Association forward.
