Public/Privately Owned Student Centers/Unions

Happy Fabulous Friday ACUI Colleagues!!

I hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday break last week with family and friends!  I certainly did!!  Today I pose a question that I am hopeful that you may assist me with: Is anyone aware of a model in which a Student Center/Union building is built and owned by a private investor and leased to an institution of higher education?   Any and all thoughts are welcomed and appreciated!

Gil,

The university of Kansas recently completed a large P3 project that included as a smaller portion of the scope a satellite student center. The building program was comprised largely of conference space and some food service with an administrative component totaling roughly 30,000 square feet. You can read a bit more about it here:

I hope this is helpful to you!
