Banning Straws

Hi folks - I don't know about y'all but I've spent at least 6 hours recently discussing/learning about straws.
Our food service provider (Chartwell's) is going to try paper straws at one retail food outlet and determine if they'll require their other retail locations to follow suit.
They have already eliminated from dining halls. Challenging straw issues are for our 2 locations that offer milkshakes/Icees...it is challenging to drink those beverages without one and paper ones don't seem to hold up long enough to finish the beverage without a brain freeze.

Feel free to chime in below on what your campuses are doing in regards to single-use straws.

Also -saw this article in the Washington Post and thought I'd share:

Thanks,
Eve

Eve,
Check into Aardvark straws: https://www.aardvarkstraws.com/faq#best You can find testing data there on straw strength in cold beverages.

Steve

Steve also pulled together this article a few months ago that might help connect with other campuses navigating this.
