Sport venue parking requirement ratios

Looking for some help with establishing parking baselines for large venues. Looks like the standard zoning for arenas is 1 space for every 3 seats. But that is public, not a campus venue. Is anyone using any other calculation for a campus based arena - especially in the 5-15K audience size?

Your numbers sound right. Penn State may not be the best example for you since we don't have a dedicated arena parking lot. Our arena parking lot is our commuter student parking lot Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM. After 5PM and on weekends, this parking lot is shared between our 16K arena, our 5K baseball stadium, our new lacrosse stadium, and our indoor/outdoor track building. In addition, it is also shared with our 107K football stadium. The majority of our athletic facilities are grouped together on the east side of our campus, so they can all share resources, such as parking. During the weekdays when it is used at the primary commuter lot, we run free campus shuttles to central campus.

Ha! We are actually more similar than you think. I have the same situation with the athletic venues being central around a shared lot that is a commuter lot. Our spaces are smaller of course, but conceptually we are working with the same situation. I appreciate the response and affirmation that I'm not "out in left field"....see what I did there?
