ADA Compliant Adjustable Height Lectern

Posted by Trinity Gonzalez on Jan 11, 2019 11:57 am

Hi there! I recently got some funds approved to buy a new adjustable height lectern that is ADA compliant and will accommodate folks who use a wheelchair and beyond. While I am beyond thrilled to have received these funds, I am starting at square 1 on actually purchasing this equipment. Does anyone out there have one of these in their facility or have any of you ever used one? I am looking for info on everything from the specs I should be looking at to the supplier/provider I should use. Thank you all in advance for any guidance you can provide!

Ours is a DaLite product.  DaLite is now under the umbrella of Legrand Corporation. https://www.legrandav.com/products/da-lite. Ours is a older but works really well and I to not believe the design has really changed. It goes low enough to accommodate those needing a wheel chair, but also as high as most lecterns and has popular among users who do not need an accommodation, but do need more presentation work space. They are not cheap, but are durable.

Hi Trinity,
Here is a great searchable resource from the federally-funded Job Accommodation Network - www.askjan.org/soar. You can type in "lectern" or "podium" and you'll get hits on a number of companies with those products. I'm also checking to see if we have an ACUI Procure partners who may carry what you're looking for, as that would provide a significant savings. Will let you know...

Hey Trinity,

I recently purchased a lectern from AVF international (via touchboards.com) and I'm quite happy with it so far. We didn't get the height adjustable one but they do make one that might work for you.

I've been though this search before, its hard to find something that  is functional and also looks nice. Here are a couple other manufactures that you might like depending on your needs

Good luck, let me know if I can help
