    Good morning, ACUI colleagues!

The MWSU Dean of Students Office, Blum Student Union, and Student Government Association are looking for promising practices as we change up our annual "Heart Your Union" Day, which is annually held in mid-February (usually right before Valentine's Day). The purpose of this event (which hasn't been held for a few years) is to celebrate the student union and showcase to MWSU students all that the Blum Student Union has to offer, including the various offices that reside in the Blum Union.

We're looking for examples of similar programs at other campuses as we try to develop some new ideas and programming for this day. If you have such programming, we would love to hear more about it!

    Thanks in advance for sharing!

    Hi Brett -
We typically have an I (heart) My Student Center event in mid-February.
Last year, bc of COVID, we change it to Your Student Center (Heart)s You and offered massages, free food, tshirts, and had tables from partners like Wellness, Counseling & Psych Services, etc.

In 2020, I Heart My Student Center took place on Thursday, February 13th from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center Plaza. The theme for that year's event was "Love Yourself" focusing on self-care and self-love. The event featured partnerships with various campus departments promoting their resources for students. There were also 3 interactive photo booths, cookie decorating, free desserts, massages, giveaways and more.

One year, we made it more of a birthday celebration, to celebrate 5 years since our renovation/construction project.

Another year hosted a "Market" of sorts and brought in vendors of things that folks might want to buy for their significant others (bath bombs, candles, desserts, etc)

Hope this helps & let me know if you have ?s about this.
