    Hey Friends!

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. It is a day to celebrate individuals who identify as transgender and/or non-binary around the world. To our friends who are transgender and non-binary, we support you, we love you, and we celebrate you today.

To all of those allying with this community, please reach out to your colleagues, students, friends, and family members who are members of the transgender and non-binary community and let the individuals know that you are celebrating who they are. While there have been numerous victories for gender and sexual minority rights there are still countless other ongoing battles as nearly 240 anti-LGBTQ+ bills had been filed as of March 20, 2022 (NBC News Article). These proposals could restrict LGBTQ+ issues in school curriculums, permit religious exemptions to discriminate, limit trans people's ability to play sports, use restrooms aligning with their gender identity and receive gender-affirming healthcare. These are just a few things transgender individuals continue to fight for currently. We encourage you to check out the Human Rights Campaign website and numerous other resources for how to recognize today and ally yourself with this community: HRC International Transgender Day of Visibility
